Muslim who is god

Yahweh is also depicted as unchanging and One who assures the salvation of the faithful. Finally, because there is unity in the Trinity with the one God also being three persons, God can be described as the Father of Jesus.

Some scholars want to emphasize the similarities between Yahweh and Allah, and point to a common belief in a monotheistic God who is Creator of all things, omnipotent and merciful. Both religions also claim that God has sent prophets to reveal His will and produce scriptures to guide our lives. However, Allah and Yahweh cannot refer to the same person for the following reasons.

First of all, their attributes are different. Also, since his power is more important than his other attributes, there is an unequal emphasis on power over his other attributes.

In the end, a follower cannot know God or even be sure of the consistency of his attributes. On the other hand, because Yahweh is by nature a triune unity his attributes stem from his nature. The eternal relationship within the Trinity promotes love within the Godhead and extends to his creation. Also, since his attributes are based on his unchanging nature rather than his powerful will, all his attributes are equal and promote trustworthiness rather than capriciousness.

He does not simply punish them. He actively leads them astray. This prayer makes sense because God is capable of guiding humans elsewhere.

A number of passages have Satan responsible for this sort of deception. But their hearts had hardened and Satan had made what they had been doing seem decorous zayyana to them. One passage Q even suggests that God hates the unbelievers depending on how one interprets the Arabic word maqt. In thinking through this jarring language, however, readers should keep two things in mind. In one passage it does this simply by asking man to think about where his food comes from:. God is merciful rahim , meanwhile, in forgiving believers and believers alone.

Second, the wrath of the God of Islam is not so different from the wrath of the God of the Bible, who, too, can be vengeful and carry out plots against unbelievers. As Ulrich Lehner has recently put it in the title of his book. God is Not Nice.

But the New Testament certainly leaves a place for divine vengeance. It is a common belief in divine goodness, however, that best supports the same-God position. This is not to mean that theological controversy will or should end. Muslims through the years have attacked Christian doctrines of the Trinity and the Incarnation. The reason why there are different conceptions of God and of gods is surely not that humans have culpably strayed from an original revelation. Rather, these beliefs are human constructions and reconstructions that reflect our own rationalisations, hopes, fears and aspirations.

The latter include attempts by particular groups of people to defend their identity or even assert their hegemony over others on the grounds that they have been uniquely favoured by God with authentic revelation. That seems to be why some Christians deny that Allah is just another name for God.

It also explains Malaysian Muslim efforts to prevent Christians from referring to God as Allah for fear that legitimising the Christian understanding of Allah will threaten Islamic dominance in their country. Portsmouth Climate Festival — Portsmouth, Portsmouth.

All that is in the heavens and in the earth belongs to Him. Who is there that can intercede with Him except by His leave?

He knows what is before them and what is behind them, but they do not comprehend any of His knowledge except what He wills. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth; it does not weary Him to preserve them both.

He is the Most High, the Tremendous. The primary pillar of Islamic belief clearly states that there is nothing worthy of worship except God. Associating partners with God or attributing qualities of lesser beings to Him is considered to be the greatest sin in Islam. In the past, this often took the form of idol worship or praying to multiple lesser gods. They become so consumed with these things that they submit to whatever will allow them to fulfill their desires.

For example, if a drug addict allows their addiction to control their actions, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors, causing them to risk their personal safety and the safety of others, that drug has essentially become their god. Islam teaches that people should completely submit only to God as He is the only One worthy of their worship.

He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything in it belongs to Him. The Quran points out the faulty thinking of those who worship other than God:.

In order to be a true believer, one must believe in the absolute oneness of God, as the only Creator, Preserver and Nourisher of everything. However, this belief in the true characteristics of God is not the sole condition of true faith; one must also acknowledge that God is the only one who deserves to be worshipped. Indeed, He guides humanity to what is best for them in this life and the hereafter and He is All-Knowing and All-Wise.

Having embraced this understanding of God, one should constantly have faith in Him, and should remain steadfast on the truth. One of the striking effects of faith is a feeling of gratitude towards God. Believers love God and are grateful to Him for the blessings He gives them.

They are aware of the fact that their good deeds will never be equal to His divine favors upon them so they are always striving to please Him. A beautiful characteristic of the believers is that they accept everything God wills and continuously remember Him in all aspects of life.
